Often, the adventure begins with you lending a hand during inflation! With the balloon envelope spread on the ground and the attached basket tipped on the side, a large portable fan is used to blow cold air into the opening. You’ll help the nylon keep its shape as cool air fills it. Next, the air is heated up with a propane burner. The basket turns upright, everyone gets in, and off it goes!

Total weightlessness among the clouds! No confining windows—it’s just you and the open air and your lens stretching over the basket to capture extraordinary photos. Moving at the pace of the wind, you’ll have ample time to frame every shot.
And unlike a helicopter flight or airplane ride, there’s zero turbulence (the balloon follows the wind, never fighting it). The only time you’ll ever feel the breeze is when the hot air balloon changes altitudes. But even then, it’s very minor. Motion sickness is never a concern. It’s also quiet—almost silent, except for periodical blasts from the propane burner.

You might expect a bit of a jolt or tumble right before take-off but in fact, the sensation is quite smooth. Landing, on the other hand, can be a tad choppier. Normally, the pilot lands the balloon gradually with a few small bumps. A ground crew is often present to hold the balloon in place once it touches down.

Balloons rides begin either before sunrise or sunset when wind conditions are at their most stable and scenery is at its most beautiful. Morning rides meet up usually 30-60 minutes before sunrise. These tours take off between 5:30 and 6:30 am. Sunset flights are generally available from November through March, usually two hours before dawn.

The balloon ride itself lasts about an hour, but the entire experience—which often includes traveling to and from the launch destination, setting up the balloon, and a customary champagne toast—can last anywhere from 2 to 3 hours.

Hot air ballooning is regarded as the safest sport in aviation. All pilots are FAA-certified, flights never occur in unsuitable weather conditions, extra equipment is always on board, and a thorough safety briefing is provided before every flight.

You will be notified prior to the tour and offered the tour on another day or you will get a full refund.

An air-conditioned minibus will come to your hotel and the driver will look for you in the lobby. Should he not find you, he will ask for you at the reception desk. After the tour you will be dropped off outside your hotel.

Just call our hotline number specified on the tour voucher if the pick-up bus has not arrived 15 minutes after the specified pick-up time on the tour voucher and we will sort it out with the tour operator and call you back. This may happen when the tour operator is picking up other customers before you.

That is not a problem but the tour operator would like to have the tour voucher to facilitate their administration. You can show the voucher on your smartphone or just note down the tour voucher number.

Should the customer not be present for pick-up at the place and time specified on the tour voucher, or does not go on the tour for other reasons, no refund is applicable no matter the reason (including medical reasons) and any claims need to be submitted by the customer to the customer's travel insurance company.

Should the tour operator fail to pick-up the customer, the customer (or the hotel reception) must call our hotline telephone number specified on the tour voucher 15 minutes after the specified pick-up time. Any other means of communication (e-mail etc) is strictly not accepted. Should the tour operator claim that they were at the place and time specified on the tour voucher and we have not received such a telephone call from the customer no refund is applicable. To prove the case request may be made to tour operator for GPS tracker log, photos etc and to customer for contact details of hotel staff witness, photos, hotel CCTV footage etc.
